Day 4

Matthew

I don’t understand the cafeteria. Why does everyone move in a single, robotic line? There seems to be a path; salad bar, hot station or sandwich station, dessert, beverage. What if I decide to put croutons on my salad after I’ve already reached the beverage station? It doesn’t appear you can do that. Everyone eats quietly. It’s eerie. Plus, why do I feel so freaking weird after I eat the food here?

John

Earnings, earnings, earnings.

I have massive spreadsheets going on here! Massive!

I love the glare from my computer. It is so soothing.

Miss Barry

Omg all these stupid names. So many people getting cut.

Mr. Kane

“Messages, Mary! Where are my messages?” It is Thursday and I am on track to have more messages this week than I did last week; I have Mary chart this with an excel graph. It is important to keep track of this kind of data.

About Zombies At Work

As I approach my car, my mood begins to elevate. Fresh air. Sunshine. As I feel increasingly good, I begin to wonder if I am experiencing some form of bipolarity -- if mental illness is a side effect of corporate life.

I will learn that it is. It is dangerous, can be chronic…even fatal. It is called corporate zombism.
